1974 Porsche 914 Limited Edition
People either love or hate this car. Very little in between on this one.

During a 7-week period in 1974, Porsche manufactured the 914 LE's (also referred to as Can Am's). They were available in either white/orange - aka the Creamsicle, or in black/yellow - aka the Bumble Bee. It's believed that Porsche manufactured only 500 of each color and only a fraction of those survive today.

Interestingly, one of the reasons so few of these cars are known to have survived is that the 914 LE can only be authenticated via  a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity - they cannot be identified by their VIN. It's believed that many of these cars were re-painted a different color at some point in their lives, resold, and then lost forever. Who knows? That re-painted black 914 you had in college may have been an LE!

This particular car, chassis # 0739536, is the second surviving example to come off the line in 1974 and one of an estimated 100 Creamsicles remaining worldwide. A 100% restored, multiple award-winning car, it's even more fun to drive than it is to look at.
