1987 Volkswagen Scirocco 16V
Another car from the past that everyone seems to have forgotten but that I can't get out of my damn head.
Over 20 years ago, when I was starting one of my first businesses, I had a partner who drove a ratted-out, bright orange VW Scirocco. Because his ratted-out Scirocco was WAY nicer than my even more ratted-out 1968 Mustang, I drove it every chance I got.
And I've been thinking about that car ever since.
I found this car listed on VWvortex by a seller in Pennsylvania. He had modded it up a little bit (common for the few of these cars still on the road) but hadn't done anything too drastic. Given the scarcity of these cars in decent condition, I jumped on it.
The car's in my shop just waiting its turn. And I can't wait to get to it. It'll get the full treatment right down to the bones. I plan on taking everything back to stock except for the interior. I'd like to custom fit some 911 tombstone seats in it and then make the rest of the interior match. We'll see. Anything's possible for now.
