1982 AMC Jeep CJ-7 Renegade
Love, love my Jeep!
This is about as cool as it gets. No doors. No worries. No chance of survival if I roll this thing.
This is an original 35k-mile survivor that has lived in Texas its entire life. It was put away in a barn in the early nineties and rescued by a Jeep specialist in 2011. He did a minor cosmetic restoration and I managed to get it away from him in early 2012.
Once I got it, I decided to take it a step further.
I started by addressing the terrible, marine-grade vinyl interior. Turns out, nobody sells great leather seats for a CJ-7. No problem, it just meant we had to make them custom. After that we added new carpet and floor mats, misc interior bits, all new suspension components, and a 600 watt stereo system. Just the usual this and that.
If I'm honest, she's probably not going to see much time off-road. But I can't imagine a better car for cruising around Austin on a beautiful summer day.
