2009 Ferrari F430 Spider
True story.
In 2008 I was picking up my new Aston Martin at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT when I wandered into the detail bay and saw their detailers preparing a new F430 for delivery. Being a car guy, I stayed around and watched. Eventually I was joined by my Aston Martin salesperson at which time I said, rather off-handedly, "You know, someday I'm going to twist your arm and get you to sell me a Ferrari". She replied, also rather off-handedly, "Do you want a Ferrari"?
Keep in mind, 2008 was during that insane period of time when you couldn't just walk into a Ferrari dealership and buy a car. There was a huge waiting list and people were literally standing in line to drop $300k on a car. Insane.
"Do you want a Ferrari"?
"Umm... I guess so".
And that's how I joined the ranks of people who thought it was a good idea buying a car that, if you're quiet, you can literally HEAR depreciating. I really must be some kind of financial genius.
