1989 Ford Mustang GT
Close your eyes and take a trip back in time with me. Imagine that it's the late eighties in Southern California. A young man, we'll call him John, has a little bit of money in the bank for the first time ever. He got that money the old-fashioned way - from an insurance settlement. Being young and very wise, our hero decides to spend his new-found fortune in the most sensible way possible. He decides to buy his first brand-new car. Of course, being  a car guy all his life - and finding himself living on the beach in sunny California - the car is obviously going to be a kickass American muscle car with a drop top. Right?

Ahem. No.

What I bought was a 1988 Toyota Celica Convertible. With a 4-cylinder engine. In red with grey velour interior.
A week later, my buddy Sean pulled up in a brand new Mustang GT convertible and showed me what I should have bought.

And now I have.

I looked long and hard for this beauty before I brought her home. Finished in Bright Regatta Blue and Titanium over grey leather interior, and outfitted with the hard-to-find 5-speed transmission, this car came to me from its original owner who put only 7,297 miles on it in his 23 years of ownership. This car looks new, drives new, feels new, sounds new and smells new. I have no idea what it tastes like. Probably new.
