1980 Toyota 4WD Pickup
OK. I get it. I can't expect everyone to have the same excellent taste in vehicles that I do. But, please, I beg of you - give an icon its due.
There was a time, roughly from 1980 to 1988, when if you lived in certain parts of the country (perhaps not New York City or Miami but certain less populated and more out of the way parts) and you were rocking a new Toyota 4WD Truck... you were undeniably The Man. If you went the extra step and blacked out some of the tailgate letters so that TOYOTA was turned into another word like TOY or YO, well, then the ladies just started throwing their panties at you when you drove by.
I'm only partly kidding.
For years I'd been looking for a really good example of one of these iconic trucks - but that's harder than it might sound. Because Toyota built these trucks so well, people just drove them into the ground. Even today it's not uncommon to find them running around town with 300k or 400k miles on them. Not for me, thank you.
This one-owner beauty came to me from Parkersburg, West Virginia where her original owner had kept her hidden away in a heated garage and drove her less than 39k miles in his 34 years of ownership. Now she's mine. Ladies, watch out.
