1988 BMW M3
I am SO getting tired of typing this same old story over and over again. I bought a car. It was a great car. But it wasn't perfect. Everyone else would have left it as is but I decided to go crazy again. Blah, blah, blah.
I purchased this car from a former BMW tech in San Diego. He was the 2nd owner and this car was the very definition of the word "solid". Drove like a champion, clean interior, very nice paint for a 20+ year old car, and so on. It really was a very pretty car. But it wasn't perfect.
While the car needed almost nothing mechanically (new fan clutch, replaced the AC dryer) we went full monty on everything else. Complete glass-out , doors-off paint job. Refinished wheels. New tires. All new rubber and seals. New windshield. Every exterior piece of trim replaced. New lenses. New emblems. New things you've never heard of.
Same on the interior. New leather seats. New EVO3 steering wheel. New seat belts. New door sills. New shifter. New shift boot. New black damn thing that goes around the shift boot. New dash switches that really didn't need to be replaced but I've lost my mind. Are you getting the picture yet?
How bad has it gotten? In the two photos below, the one that appears to show a like-new BMW M3 is actually the BEFORE photo. The photo showing the car completely disassembled and without paint is the AFTER photo.
Help me. Please.
