Giorgetto Giugiaro
It's funny how you sometimes learns things about yourself in unexpected ways.

Turns out that I'm a huge fan of the automobile designer Giorgetto Giugiaro  - and I have been for decades. I just never knew it.

You may have noticed that my car collection, especially at first glance, appears to lack much of a theme. I don't focus on muscle cars. Or British roadsters. Or exotics. And I don't buy my cars for the usual reasons. I'm not intent on making a profit. I don't really care if people are impressed by them. I mean, is anyone worth impressing really impressed by a 1981 Chevrolet Citation? I buy my cars for one reason and one reason only - because I love them. Yes, ALL of them. And, as it turns out, I have a particular passion for Mr. Giugiaro's designs.

Until a couple years ago, I had never heard of Giorgetto Giugiaro. But as I started adding cars to my collection, and doing some research, his name kept coming up. Turns out, I owned three of his designs before I even knew they were his: my Fiat 850 Sport Spider, my Isuzu Impulse , and my VW Scirocco. And it doesn't end there. I recently acquired yet another of his designs, a Lotus Esprit, and two more of his cars are on my future shopping list: the BMW M1 and the DeLorean DMC-12.

So, my thanks to Mr. Giugiaro. Consider me a fan.
